What Kangen Water Is
Kangen means “return to origin” in Japanese. Here is how an Enagic machine turns tap water into five kinds of water, and what each one is for.
From Your Tap in Two Steps
Filter
The internal filter removes chlorine, unpleasant taste and odor, and sediment down to 5 micrometers. The result is Clean Water at a neutral pH of 7.
Electrolysis
Platinum coated titanium plates split the water into an alkaline stream and an acidic stream, which leave through separate hoses. The plate count is a big part of what separates one model from another.
Five Waters From One Machine
Two are for drinking, three are for the rest of the house. These are the pH levels and uses Enagic lists.

Strong Kangen and Strong Acidic water need the electrolysis enhancer. Enagic recommends Clean Water, not Kangen Water, for taking medication and for infant formula.
